Longgang is located in Yunyang County, 380 kilometers away from the city center. It is the largest karst vertical shaft in the world. It looks like a huge geological cylinder, hundreds of meters long and hundreds of meters deep. Therefore, it is named Longgang, also known as “Longgang” in Chinese. Its depth is the third deepest in China and the fifth deepest in the world. Inside the jar, pine trees lay in the gaps, crawling up from both sides like a sleeping dragon. In the Natural Science Museum of Daguan Garden, this peculiar, wonderful, and colorful landscape painting was explained.
It has the world’s longest glass cantilever bridge, measuring 26.64 meters in length and built at a height of 1010 meters. Tourists can overlook a vertical drop of 718 meters. There are no direct steel supports under the walkway of the horseshoe shaped viewing floor, and the guardrails are all transparent glass sheets, allowing visitors to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view unobstructed.
Yunyang Longgang Geological Park has various karst landforms. Longgang looks like a huge geological cylinder, with a main axis of 304-326 meters, a semi main axis of 178-183 meters, and a depth of 355 meters. The appearance of the scenic area is like a natural jar, still carrying the love story of Aksman and the Dragon Maiden, hence it is known as the “world’s first jar”.
The investment in the construction of tourist attractions is about 40 million yuan, and the architectural design of the tourist center is a flower on a cliff, symbolizing dragons and phoenixes.
There is also Zhang Fei Temple near the Longgang Site. Zhang Fei was a famous general during the Three Kingdoms period (about 1700 years ago). There are more tourist attractions in Yunyang County.
