Chongqing Industrial Culture Expo Park
The Chongqing Industrial Museum is located in Lizilin, Dadukou District, Chongqing. The Chongqing Industrial Museum is based on the Chongqing Iron and Steel Plant site and consists of a main exhibition hall, a Steel Soul exhibition hall, and an industrial heritage park. It is committed to creating an innovative and creative large-scale museum characterized by interactive experiences and themed scenes. The main exhibition hall, covering an area of 8000 m2, shows the development of Chongqing’s industry in the past 120 years since Chongqing first opened its port to foreigners. It showcases the revitalization of national production and the enormous contribution of Chongqing’s industry to the Anti Japanese War, Chongqing’s urbanization, China’s industrialization, and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

The “Soul of Steel” exhibition hall with a total area of approximately 5000 square meters has been activated and utilized in the manufacturing workshop of the former steel plant relocation committee, which is the former site of Chongqing’s anti Japanese war weapons industry. The industrial park covers an area of approximately 42 acres (2.8 hectares) and possesses valuable industrial equipment, such as the 8000 horsepower twin cylinder horizontal steam engine produced by the Sheffield Company in 1905, themed sculptures, installation art, and industrial pioneer statues, showcasing the perfect combination of industrial culture and public art.

Online booking is now available on the official website of Chongqing Industrial Museum. In addition, the main exhibition hall, “Soul of Steel” exhibition hall, and industrial park will be visited for free during the trial operation period from September 29th to December 28th. The museum is closed on Mondays, open from 9:00 to 17:00 on Tuesdays to Sundays, and does not receive visitors after 4:30 pm.

As a core component of Chongqing Industrial Culture Expo Park and one of the four major museum clusters in Chongqing, Chongqing Industrial Museum shoulders the glorious mission of “inheriting Chongqing’s industrial history and enriching the cultural connotation of the city”. In 2015, the construction of Chongqing Industrial Museum began; In September 2019, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the project was completed.
